Bournazian speaks fluent American Sign Language. His parents were deaf, and sign language was his first language. Even as a child, he was the person they relied on to know when someone was at the door or calling on the telephone. He translated their words in every communication with the outside hearing world. He especially admires his parents because they had so many obstacles to overcome-yet they raised 13 responsible children and taught them to work hard and excel every day in what they do. Facing life's obstacles with strength and determination is an important lesson that he is passing on to his own three sons.

In order to receive a 2009 Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn a "Good" rating (the Institute's highest) in each of the front, side, and rear impact tests performed by the Institute and offer an electronic stability control system such as Nissan's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

In November, IIHS will begin to announce winners of the 2010 Top Safety Pick award, which includes a "Good" rating in the IIHS roof crush test as new criteria. However, 2010 model year vehicles such as Versa were still eligible to receive the award according to the 2009 criteria.

Tray Bournazian, Sales Consultant, was born to deaf parents and learned sign language before he could speak.
